How did we get here?!

   I here because in1990 at the age of 17 I was diagnosed with SLE better known as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.  Sounds awful right??  To be honest IT IS!!!!!!  For those who don't know SLE is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the immune system attacks healthy tissues and organs.  Systemic Lupus is a  chronic illness that can affect many parts of the better,  Each person that is diagnosed with this disease/illness is attacked in a different way.  Lupus does NOT REACT THE SAME IN EVERYONES BODY.  Now that I have gotten that out the way, lets move on.  In 1990 Lupus was this was an illness that I had never heard  of but guess what...... I had always had the symptoms.  Wild RIGHT!!!!!!  Over the years I have suffered 3 strokes, been in a coma, developed diabetes as well as a heart condition and a host of other health issues.  In an instant I went from being happy I had graduating from high school to a Lupus patient that was told that I  may not live passed 35.  It was not a good time!!!!! Through the years I have gone through a lot, things I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy.  The pain was/is other worldly and I don't know how that is possible, but it is.  Having a strong support system is key!!!!!!  With that being said I started this foundation to be another support system, your go to place when you have had ENOUGH.  YES lupus as well as any other disease will make you feel that way!!!!!! I know it makes me feel that way.  So sit down, stay a while, ask questions, and share your experience here.  This is your safe place, this is your village, sounding board when you need us!!!!!! NO JUDGEMENT HERE, YOU ARE NOT CRAZY OR EMOTIONAL, AND YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!!!!
